Lownes is an avid bass player with 20 plus years experience recording,
playing, touring, arranging and composing. He has performed and/or
recorded with Bruce Hornsby, Tommy Walker (Hosanna, Get Down) Justo
Amario (Alto sax / Sinatra, Lopez, Poncho Sanchez) Sergio Gonzalez
(Drums/Jennifer Lopez), Paul Barrer (Little Feat) , Pete Snell
(Guitar/Lyle Lovett), David Zink (Indie), Ramiro Medina (indie), Darius
(Goldcastle recording artist), Phil Leavitt (Drums/DADA).
As an adjunct professor of bass studies at Life Pacific College in San
Dimas, CA, a teacher of music privately for 20 years, and being the
music director in an inner city school for 5 years Jim has earned a
unique perspective on music and the creative process. Jim has composed
and arranged music for commercials, Toyota Motor Coprporation, big
band, jazz ensembles, and rock/pop music, and many other styles.
